Dry eye syndrome, also known as keratoconjunctivitis sicca, is a condition where the eyes do not produce enough tears, or the tears evaporate too quickly. This lack of adequate lubrication can lead to discomfort, impaired vision, and, in severe cases, damage to the surface of the eyes.
Parents should ensure their children are healthy and have a good quality of life. Part of doing so is through routine pediatric care. Vision problems are among the most common health disorders in children. Early detection and prompt treatment of eye problems affecting them are crucial.
